Big passable figures

The passable Christmas ball of Madrid's Gran Vía

It has more than 43,000 pixel LED light points with which custom developed light shows are recreated

One of our most representative products, the giant walkable ball, has become one of the leading figures at Christmas on Madrid's Gran Vía. And not only with its presence, but also with the light and sound shows that it offers every night and that attract the attention of thousands of visitors every day.

The giant ball of Gran Vía, 12 meters in diameter and about seven tons, has more than 43,000 pixel LED light points with which light shows developed by our team are recreated. These are pixel mapping shows lasting up to ten minutes that include synchronized variations of designs, music, motion effects and text projections.

"To reduce its environmental impact to the maximum, the ball is developed 100% with LED technology"

Located at the intersection of Calle Gran Vía and Calle de Alcalá, in front of the emblematic Metropolis building, every Christmas night it is illuminated so that citizens and visitors can enjoy up to three daily show passes.

"Innovating on Christmas dates and highlighting an emblematic point of the city", in the words of the Madrid City Council, has been the main objectives that motivated the city to install one of our giant balls, developed between the Ilmex and Ximenez teams Lighting -company of the global firm Ximenez Group-.

And the energy expenditure? To reduce its environmental impact to the maximum, the ball is developed 100% with LED technology, with which its power is only 6.93 kilowatts.
